ACCP’s popular Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program, seventh edition (PSAP-VII), began with the release of Cardiology in January 2010. Gastroenterology/Nutrition, the final book in the series, will be released in July 2012.
PSAP is the premier home study tool for the pharmacotherapy specialist. This series of continuing education activities provides subscribers with pertinent pharmacotherapeutic updates with an emphasis on quality patient care. Neither a textbook nor an overall review, each book in the PSAP-VII series presents the latest information on a specific topic. This allows pharmacists to develop and assess their knowledge in the science and application of pharmacotherapy and to enhance their educational competence in this specialty, with an emphasis on providing quality pharmaceutical care.
The new, previously unpublished material in each PSAP print and online book can be integrated into structured training programs or assist advanced-level practitioners in maintaining their clinical competence. The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) has approved PSAP-VII as an acceptable professional development activity for Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
The clinical updates provided in PSAP-VII can be used immediately to provide quality patient care and improve patient outcomes. As a self-paced home study program, PSAP facilitates optimal enhancement of clinical skills while keeping you informed of current therapeutic opinions and updated standards of practice.
PSAP-VII covers 15 therapeutic areas in a series of 11 home-study books. Each book contains peer-reviewed chapters packed with current, relevant information on a specific therapeutic area. Each chapter includes updates on critical pharmacotherapy, baseline resources to bring you up to speed on the topic, an annotated bibliography and additional resources for further study, and multiple-choice self-assessment questions written in case-study format. Online answers with a detailed rationale for each self-assessment question include links to electronic references that provide more information on treatment decisions.
