Several additions have been made to the textbook since the previous edition in 2002. In order to more closely examine the scientific literature of related specialties, the authors have sought advice from nonanesthesiologists in several chapters. For example, pharmacologists review pharmacology topics, surgical cases by surgeons with expertise in specific areas and equipment subjects by bioengineers. Clinical Anesthesiology is an excellent text for board review or for simply obtaining immediate information; I have no hesitation in recommending it to all clinical anesthesiologists.
